General Rules
- Infonetics Research’s research is proprietary to Infonetics Research and subject to copyright and property protections
- Commercial use of the research is prohibited
- Infonetics Research analysts may provide quotes for client marketing material, such as press releases; all quotes are subject to approval
- See below for specific approval instructions
Members of the Press
Members of the press need approval to cite Infonetics Research material only when the material is not available on the Infonetics Press Portal or company Web site (see How to Get Approval below). Material includes diagrams, graphs, tables, and quotes.
Members of the press have advance approval to cite any Infonetics Research material posted on the Infonetics Press Portal or company Web site, provided that:
- All portions of text identify Infonetics Research as the source
- The Infonetics Research copyright statement (© Infonetics Research 2011) is affixed to all graphics
- When quoting an analyst, their full name, title, and company (Infonetics Research) are cited
- All citations are accurate, quoted verbatim, and/or duplicated without being manipulated, adapted, paraphrased, or summarized, and must not be used out of context
Clients and Non-Clients
Clients and non-clients must obtain approval in writing prior to citation of any Infonetics Research information or data, including, but not limited to, diagrams, graphs, tables, and quotes (see How to Get Approval below).
In general, Infonetics requires that a report be purchased to be cited, so clients typically will be given permission to cite research from reports they have purchased, but material must be submitted to Infonetics Research in context for an accuracy check and approval. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis for non-clients seeking to cite our research. Once approval is granted, clients and non-clients may cite our research provided that:
- All portions of text identify Infonetics Research as the source
- The Infonetics Research copyright statement (© Infonetics Research 2011) is affixed to all graphics
- When quoting an analyst, their full name, title, and company (Infonetics Research) are cited
- All citations are accurate, quoted verbatim, and/or duplicated without being manipulated, adapted, paraphrased, or summarized, and must not be used out of context
- Citations do not contain more than an insubstantial portion of the data, so as not to diminish the value of the cited service
- For example, when citing a 5-year forecast, it is permissible to cite the overall totals for the 1st and 5th years of the forecast, but it is not permissible to cite the annual and quarterly data points between them
How to Get Approval
Please present the following in your request:
- All requests to use quotations, graphs, diagrams and/or tables should be submitted in their final media vehicle, e.g., press release, marketing materials, presentation, etc.
- All of the elements in the above guidelines should be included for approval (copyright statement, source, attribution, etc.)
We will work with you to provide approval within 2 business days of receipt of your request
Send your request to the lead analyst of the report (bios); alternatively, send your request to citationapproval@infonetics.com.
