Telecom carriers increasing spending on outsourced services, growing to
$73 billion in 2014

Campbell, CALIFORNIA, April 28, 2010—Telecommunications industry market research firm Infonetics Research (http://twitter.com/infonetics) released the first edition of its 2010 biannual Service Provider Outsourcing to Vendors market size, market share, and forecast report.

ANALYST NOTE

“As telecom service providers continue to operate in a low single-digit revenue and capped capex environment, they will be forced to outsource more and more tasks until only customer care, sales, marketing, and branding become their core business. Outsourcing is the only avenue left for them to cut operating expenses and beef up their margins, so we expect the outsourcing market to continue to grow,” explains Stéphane Téral, Infonetics Research’s principal analyst for mobile and FMC infrastructure.

SERVICE PROVIDER OUTSOURCING MARKET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Worldwide, telecom service providers paid network equipment vendors $50.4 billion in 2009 for outsourced services
